Montgomery County Public Libraries to Launch Free Mobile App for Easy Access to Library Resources on Friday, May 30

Montgomery County Public Libraries ( MCPL ) will launch its new mobile app on Friday, May 30. The app provides convenient, on-the-go access to a broad range of library resources and services for residents of all ages and can be downloaded on the Apple and Google Play podcast platforms.

Key features of the MCPL mobile app include:
- Comprehensive Catalog Access : Search the entire MCPL collection, including books, audiobooks, e-books and more.
- Account Management : View and manage checkouts and holds with ease.
- Barcode Scanning : Scan item barcodes using your device’s camera to check out materials instantly.
- Digital Resources : Access a wide range of digital content, including e-books, audiobooks and streaming media, through integrated platforms like OverDrive, Hoopla and Kanopy.
- Library Information : Quickly find branch locations, hours and contact details.
- Event Calendars : Stay current on upcoming events, workshops and programs.
“The new Montgomery County Public Libraries’ mobile app is another step toward making our resources easier to access for everyone in the community,” said Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich. “It’s free, easy to use and brings the library to your phone anytime and from any place.
