UPDATED: Montgomery County’s Weekly Media Briefing at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, to Feature MCPD Chief Marc Yamada

Reporters interested in asking Montgomery County leaders questions will be able to do so during this week’s virtual media briefing at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 22. Chief Administrative Officer Rich Madaleno will be filling in for County Executive Marc Elrich, who remains ill.
Mr. Madaleno is scheduled to have Montgomery County Police Chief Marc Yamada on to discuss the horrific and deadly attack outside a Jewish Museum in Washington DC Wednesday night. He will also discuss why May is such an important month for tourism in Montgomery County and highlight the effort to support the WorldPride festival. Other topics include the FY26 Operating Budget and economic development efforts to attract new businesses.
The weekly media briefings offer reporters an opportunity to discuss timely and vital issues with the County Executive, key members of the County Government and community leaders invited to the Zoom call. Media members who wish to participate in the virtual media briefing should RSVP to Tracy O’Connor at tracy.o’connor@montgomerycountymd. Login information will be provided after receipt of the RSVP. Login information for the media briefing remains the same from week to week. There is no need to RSVP each week unless you are new to the call.
