Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich Joins County’s Department of Environmental Protection to Celebrate 10 Years of Tree Montgomery Program on Arbor Day, April 25

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich will join the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Tree Montgomery program at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 25. at the Round Hill Apartments in Chevy Chase, where the program’s first trees were planted 10 years ago.
Since 2015, Tree Montgomery has planted 18,400 shade trees across the County, improving air quality and building greener communities. With a $8.3 million investment and a 93% tree survival rate, the program is a leading example of community-focused environmental action.
County Executive Elrich will present a proclamation to commemorate Arbor Day and Maryland Delegate Jared Solomon will present a State citation honoring Tree Montgomery’s 10th anniversary.
