Kensington Man Arrested in Connection to Franklin Street Death
For Immediate Release: Tuesday, January 14, 2025
Gaithersburg, MD – 21-year-old, Benjamin Jack Dresbach of Kensington has been arrested and charged in connection with the Monday, January 13, 2025, death of 29-year-old, Trevor Dean Van Devander.
At approximately 5:40 p.m., 2nd District officers responded to the 3900 block of Franklin Street in Kensington for the report of a shooting that just occurred. Upon arrival, officers located Van Devander of Sykesville, with gunshot wounds. Van Devander was pronounced dead at the scene.
Van Devander has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy will be conducted to officially determine the cause and manner of death.
The investigation has revealed that Dresbach and Van Devander wer e i nside Dresbach’s residence when an altercation occurred that led to the shooting.
Dresbach was arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit (CPU), where he has been charged with second-degree murder. He is currently being held without bond.
