Montgomery County Snow Response Update for Tuesday, Jan. 7

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, January 7, 2025

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is actively plowing and treating residential roadways. Each residential roadway will be plowed and treated at least once by nightfall tonight, Tuesday, Jan. 7. Plows aim to make roads passable, but due to packed snow and re-freezing, residents are not likely to see bare pavement. Plows will remain active overnight to continue clearing and retreating roads. Below are images of passable streets that have been plowed and treated.

MCDOT crews will be active until all 5,300 County lane miles are passable. Sidewalks and bike lanes are actively being cleared as well.

Rural areas such as Damascus and Poolesville have experienced snow drift conditions and crews are revisiting plowing streets as needed. Additional resources will be diverted from other areas of the County to assist with plowing neighborhoods in a timely manner.
