Montgomery County Recreation’s Registration for Fall Programs and Activities Begins Monday, Aug. 12

For Immediate Release: Thursday, August 1, 2024

It’s that time again! Registration for Montgomery County Recreation’s fall programs and activities will begin on Monday, Aug. 12 at 6:30 a.m. for County residents. Registration for Bone Builders , Day Trippers and Senior Outdoor Adventures in Recreation ( SOAR ) will begin at 9 a.m.

A change for this fall, registration for aquatic programs and activities will begin a day later, on Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 6:30 a.m.

“Fall marks the start of new programs and many afterschool opportunities,” said Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich. “Our Recreation department does a great job creating programming that meets the needs of our diverse community. We are committed to providing activities for people of all ages, and I encourage everyone to explore what Montgomery County Recreation has to offer this fall.”

Non-County residents will be able to register for Recreation’s programs starting at 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15.

The fall digital guide will be available online Friday, Aug. 2. The department offers hundreds of programs and activities to promote an active and healthier lifestyle. Those include aquatics, fitness, sports, visual and performance arts, therapeutic recreation, adult 55+ programming and more.

A new waitlist feature through the County’s registration system will take effect on Monday, Aug. 12. Participants will have the opportunity to be added to the waitlist for select activities that are full. Once a space becomes available participants will receive an email and will have 48 hours to accept or reject an enrollment offer. If the time period expires, or they decline the offer, participants will be removed from the waitlist.

Applications for Rec Assist , the department’s financial aid program, are still being accepted. County residents who meet program requirements can receive $400 per family member to supplement program costs.
