Detectives Investigate Old Hundred Road Fatal Collision; Victim’s Identity Released

Gaithersburg, MD – A 45-year-old Germantown man has died following a fatal motorcycle collision that occurred on Saturday, July 20, 2024, in the 24800 of Old Hundred Road.
At approximately 1:51 p.m., 5th District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the location for the report of a collision between a motorcycle and a combine harvester.
The investigation by the Montgomery County Department of Police Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) has revealed that Ian Capps was riding a brown 2018 Indian Scout motorcycle traveling southbound on Old Hundred Road when , for reasons that are still under investigation, collided with a John Deere Combine harvester that was traveling northbound on Old Hundred Road.
Capps was pronounced dead at the scene.
The operator of the combine harvester remained at the scene.
