Montgomery County Police Prevent Illegal Exhibition Driving in Burtonsville

Gaithersburg, MD – Officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Station successfully executed a traffic enforcement plan early on Saturday, July 13, 2024, to address an illegal car meet-up involving exhibition driving in a neighboring area close to Montgomery County.
Several Montgomery County Police officers responded to the area of Sandy Spring Road in Burtonsville, where they found a large group of vehicles engaging in unsafe driving activities. Officers quickly increased their presence and conducted targeted traffic enforcement, causing the group to leave Montgomery County. These enforcement efforts helped prevent potential collisions and injuries.
Such driving events continue to negatively affect the National Capital Region. The Montgomery County Department of Police will continue to work with regional partners to address unsafe driving behaviors and hold those involved accountable.
