The homeowner told officers that she was upstairs with her young child when she heard a loud noise. When she looked outside, she saw a man, later identified as Spillino, outside kicking a rear door. On Monday, October 26, 2026, at approximately 8:35 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 8000 block of Burdette Road for a report of a burglary in progress.
The homeowner told officers that she heard noises inside the home and saw a man, later identified as Spillino, looking into her bedroom. When she spoke to him, he quickly left the residence.
The homeowner provided detectives with security camera footage showing Spillino arriving in a white Chevrolet Equinox. The footage captured Spillino looking through several windows before entering the residence through an unlocked rear door. Detectives from Fairfax County Police subsequently located Spillino and his vehicle in their jurisdiction and linked him to a residential burglary that occurred in Fairfax County on October 27, 2026.
Following Spillino’s arrest, a search warrant was executed on the Chevrolet. Detectives recovered items stolen during the October 26 burglary in Bethesda, along with evidence related to the Fairfax County burglary.
Spillino has been charged in Montgomery County with burglary in the first degree and attempted burglary in the first degree. He is awaiting extradition to Montgomery County in a detention facility in Fairfax County, VA.
