Services to End and Prevent Homelessness/Continuum of Care
Update: The HHS Committee will receive an update on Services to End and Prevent Homelessness and the Continuum of Care Program within DHHS. Services to End and Prevent Homelessness provides emergency assistance to help residents remain housed, administers rental subsidy programs and manages contracts and services for emergency shelter, transitional shelter and permanent supportive housing programs. The Continuum of Care Program provides funding to nonprofits, states, tribal authorities and local governments to rehouse individuals and families experiencing homelessness, people fleeing violent situations and residents in need of assistance. In the County, these programs provide supportive housing and wraparound services to individuals who are sheltered and unsheltered, with the goal of helping them transition into permanent housing. Additional detail is available in the Council staff report.
