The following is a summary of events regarding a fatal hit and run pedestrian collision involving a Jeep Wrangler and a 62-year-old female pedestrian.
On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at approximately 7:21 p.m., officers responded to the area of Arctic Avenue and Bel Pre Road for the report of a pedestrian struck.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult female suffering from serious injuries. She was transported to an area hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Following the collision, the driver of the Jeep failed to remain on scene.
A citizen witnessed the collision and was able to provide responding officers with a description of the striking vehicle and the license plate.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating this fatal collision.
