Starting Thursday, Oct. 5: Bus Detours Due to Overnight Purple Line Construction at Wayne Avenue and Fenton Street in Silver Spring Will Impact Ride On Bus Routes 15, 16, 17, 20, and 28 – Mocofeed

Due to Purple Line construction, the intersection at Wayne Avenue and Fenton Street will experience overnight closures from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. nightly beginning Thursday, Oct. 5, with an estimated completion date of Thursday, Oct. 15. Ride On Routes 15, 16, 17, 20, and 28 will be detoured during these closures.

Ride On Bus Route 15

• To Takoma Langley Transit Center: From Wayne Avenue and Georgia Avenue, left on Georgia Avenue, right on Colesville Road, right on Spring Street (which becomes Cedar Street), left on Wayne Avenue, and back on route. 
  • Bus stops at EB Wayne Avenue & Fenton Street (bus stop ID #27060) and EB Wayne Avenue & 824 Wayne Avenue (bus stop ID #27061) will be bypassed.
  • Riders should use bus stops at Silver Spring Transit Center Bay 222 (bus stop ID #17484) and EB Wayne Avenue & Cedar Street (bus stop ID #27062).
• To Silver Spring Transit Center: From Wayne Avenue and Cedar Street, right on Cedar Street (which becomes Spring Street), left on Colesville Road, left on Georgia Avenue, right on Wayne Avenue, and back on route. 
  • Bus stops at WB Wayne Avenue & Fenton Street (bus stop ID #27100) and WB Wayne Avenue & Georgia Avenue (bus stop ID #16080) will be bypassed.
  • Riders should use bus stops at WB Wayne Avenue & Cedar Street (bus stop ID #27098) and Silver Spring Transit Center Bay 222 (bus stop ID #17484).

Ride On Bus Route 16 

• To Takoma: From Wayne Avenue and Georgia Avenue, right on Georgia Avenue, left on Silver Spring Avenue, right on Fenton Street, and back on route. 
  • Bus stops at SB Fenton Street & Colesville Road (bus stop ID #16038), and SB Fenton & Ellsworth Drive (bus stop ID #16011) will be bypassed.
  • Riders should use the bus stop at NB Georgia Avenue & Ellsworth Street (bus stop ID #14677).
• To Silver Spring Transit Center: From Fenton Street and Thayer Avenue, left on Thayer Avenue, right on Georgia Avenue, left on Wayne Avenue, and back on route. 
  • Bus stop at SB Fenton Street & Bonifant Street (bus stop ID #22178) will be bypassed.
  • Riders should use the bus stop at NB Fenton Street & Thayer Avenue (bus stop ID #22166).

Ride On Bus Route 17

• To Takoma Langley Transit Center: From Wayne Avenue and Georgia Avenue, right on Georgia Avenue, left on Silver Spring Avenue, right on Fenton Street, and back on route. 
  • Bus stops at SB Fenton Street & Colesville Road (bus stop ID #16038), and SB Fenton & Ellsworth Drive (bus stop ID #16011) will be bypassed.
  • Riders should use the bus stop at NB Georgia Avenue & Ellsworth Street (bus stop ID #14677).
• To Silver Spring Transit Center: From Fenton Street and Thayer Avenue, left on Thayer Avenue, right on Georgia Avenue, left on Wayne Avenue, and back on route.

  • Riders should use the bus stop at NB Fenton Street & Thayer Avenue (bus stop ID #22166).

Ride On Bus Route 20 

• To Hillandale: From Wayne Avenue and Georgia Avenue, right on Georgia Avenue, left on Silver Spring Avenue, left on Fenton Street, right on Thayer Avenue, and back on route. 
  • Bus stops at SB Fenton Street & Colesville Road (bus stop ID #16038), and SB Fenton & Ellsworth Drive (bus stop ID #16011) will be bypassed.
  • Riders should use bus stops at NB Georgia Avenue & Ellsworth Street (bus stop ID #14677) and EB Thayer Avenue & Fenton Street (bus stop ID #26372).
• To Silver Spring Transit Center: From Thayer Avenue at Fenton Street, straight on Thayer Avenue, right on Georgia Avenue, left on Wayne Avenue, and back on route. 
  • Bus stop at SB Fenton Street & Bonifant Street (bus stop ID #22178) will be bypassed.
  • Riders should use the bus stop at NB Thayer Avenue & Fenton Street (bus stop ID #26398).

Ride On Bus Route 28: 

From Fenton Street and Colesville Road, right on Colesville Road, left on Georgia Avenue, continue on Georgia Avenue, and back on route.

• Bus stops at SB Fenton Street & Colesville Road (bus stop ID #16038), SB Fenton & Ellsworth Drive (bus stop ID #16011), and SB Fenton Street & Bonifant Street (bus stop ID #22178) will be bypassed.
• Riders should use the bus stop at SB Fenton Street & Colesville Road (bus stop ID #17159).
