Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will discontinue the Glenmont Express Shuttle supported by Ride On bus; the last day of service will be Friday, Oct. 2.
The Ride On Glenmont Express Shuttle was originally launched in response to Metro’s partial Red Line closure from July 6 – Sept. 6, to get riders to the east side of the Red Line Metro, which was in operation. The free Ride On shuttle provided direct service between Milestone Park-and-Ride, Shady Grove, and Glenmont Metro Stations, weekdays every 40 minutes from 6-9 a.m. and 3-7 p.m.

MCDOT extended shuttle operations through September based on high ridership numbers and customer feedback gathered through the Glenmont Express Survey. In discontinuing the service, MCDOT cited declining ridership since the re-opening of the west side of the Metro Red Line.
The shuttle was free as are all County Ride On buses. The County has implemented a free-fare policy for all Ride On, Ride On extRa, Ride On Flex, and Flash buses.
