Suspect Arrested in Series of Residential Burglaries; Additional Victims a Concern – Mocofeed

 

 

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 4th District Investigative Section have arrested 29-year-old Anderson Javier Santacruz Gallegos of Riverdale, in connection with a series of residential burglaries in Montgomery County. Detectives are asking potential victims who may recognize jewelry recovered during the investigation to come forward.
 

Beginning in July 2026, detectives began investigating several residential burglaries in the 4th District. During the burglaries, Santacruz Gallegos would knock on the front door of a residence. If no one answered, he would go to the rear of the residence and force entry. Santacruz Gallegos primarily targeted jewelry and coins.

 

Through their investigation, detectives identified Santacruz Gallegos as the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant for his involvement in the following residential burglaries:

 

Wednesday, July 29, 2026: Holdridge Road

Tuesday, August 25, 2026: Xaveria Drive

Monday, September 21, 2026: Gadsden Avenue

Monday, September 21, 2026: Cliftonbrook Lane

 

On Wednesday, September 23, 2026, MCPD 4th District Special Assignment (4D SAT) officers observed Santacruz Gallegos knock on the front door of a residence on Enid Drive in Potomac. After receiving no response, Santacruz Gallegos went to the rear of the residence and forced entry. When he returned to his 2024 black Toyota Camry, 4D SAT officers arrested him. A 92-year-old victim was sleeping inside the residence at the time of the burglary. The victim was not injured.

 

Santacruz Gallegos was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he was charged with additional residential burglary charges. He is being held without bond.

 

Detectives served a search warrant at Santacruz Gallegos’ Riverdale residence, where items of evidentiary value and suspected stolen property were recovered. Detectives have identified additional victims in Montgomery County’s 1st District and in Howard County. Detectives have returned stolen property to victims.

 

Detectives will continue working with law enforcement agencies in the region to identify additional victims and return stolen property.
