Gaithersburg, MD – Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District officers arrested 36-year-old Lucas Graves of Bladensburg in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on Saturday, July 18, 2026, in the 8700 block of Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring.
At approximately 2:58 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to the Arrive Silver Spring apartments in the 8700 block of Georgia Avenue for the report of an assault in progress.
The investigation revealed that the victim was leaving his apartment when they were approached by Graves, who allegedly displayed a handgun and then struck the victim multiple times in the head with the gun, causing the victim to fall to the ground. Graves then took the victim’s cellphone and pointed the gun at the victim.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant against Graves, charging him with first degree assault, armed robbery and other related firearm charges.
Graves was arrested Thursday, August 20 by the United States Marshall Service Capital Area Region Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where is he currently being held without bond.
