Tune in for helpful information on choosing the right place to receive care based on your health needs
The featured guests on this week’s edition of En Sintonía con el Concejo del Condado de Montgomery (In Tune with the Montgomery County Council) will include Dr. Lourdes Parry, a physician specializing in public health, and Carmen Lezama, managing director of the Mansfield Kaseman Health Clinic. The show will air on Friday, Aug. 28 at 2 p.m. on Radio America (WILC 900AM) and is streamed on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Amazon Music.
This edition of En Sintonía will focus on health and wellbeing, with an emphasis on helping individuals and families understand where to turn when they need medical care. Knowing whether to contact a primary care physician, visit an urgent care center, or go directly to the emergency room can make an important difference in receiving the right care at the right time.
In collaboration with Kaseman Clinic, this segment will highlight the importance of understanding the different levels of medical care and recognizing which option is most appropriate based on an individual’s symptoms, needs and urgency. Many people are unsure about where to go when they are sick or injured, particularly when symptoms arise outside of regular office hours. Choosing the right place for care can help patients receive timely treatment, avoid unnecessary delays and expenses, and ensure that emergency resources remain available for those who need them most.
The Montgomery County Council and Radio America have entered a partnership that provides the Latino community with key information on issues and programs. The partnership also provides a forum for residents to express their views and ask questions. The partnership includes the weekly one-hour show each Friday on the Washington metropolitan area’s most popular Spanish language station.
Each week, the show features host Marcela Rodriguez, Council program manager and public information officer, and guests talking about important issues before the Council and provides information about programs offered by the County to help residents.
