Montgomery County recently launched the Connect Montgomery App, a new mobile platform that gives residents convenient, on-demand access to informational and educational content from across the County’s public access channels.
Connect Montgomery represents a collaborative effort among Montgomery County’s public, education, and government access media operations to make hyperlocal programming easier to find and watch 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The free app is available for mobile devices through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
“I am pleased to see our County departments and access media partners working together to find new and innovative ways to reach our residents,” said Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich. “This collaboration allows us to make better use of our communication resources while expanding the reach of the important work happening across the County. Residents can easily access episodes from shows like Montgomery Al Dia, Youth Talks Podcast, Unleashing Potential, and more. This is another example of how we can use technology to improve access, strengthen community connections, and better serve our residents.”
Through Connect Montgomery, residents can explore curated programming across several categories, including:
- Arts
- Communities
- Education
- Government
- Spanish Language
- Youth
“This represents evidence of a potent new approach to access media products by capitalizing on the consolidated efforts of all of the County’s channels,” said Gail Roper, County chief information officer.
Content will be updated twice a month to provide residents with fresh, well-produced programming available.
Much of the programming featured on Connect Montgomery is also available through the County’s cable access channels, including:
