Reporters interested in asking Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich questions will have the opportunity to do so during this week’s virtual media briefing, scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19.
This week, the County Executive will focus on the benefits of using grass fields instead of continuing to spend money on unhealthy synthetic turf fields for Montgomery County Public Schools athletics. He explains his opposition to Head Start changes the federal government is trying to implement and highlights efforts made to ensure safe streets for everyone as school begins again. His guests this week will be:
- Hannah Donart, activist, Real Grass for Healthy Kids Coalition
- Geoffrey Rinehart, professor, University of Maryland
- Margot Ashford, student athlete, Richard Montgomery High School
The weekly media briefings offer reporters an opportunity to discuss timely and vital issues with the County Executive, key members of the County Government, and community leaders invited to the Zoom call. Media members who wish to participate in the virtual media briefing should RSVP to Tracy O’Connor at tracy.o’connor@montgomerycountymd.gov on the day of the briefing. Login information will be provided after receipt of the RSVP. Login information for the media briefing remains the same from week to week. There is no need to RSVP each week unless you are new to the call.
You can view the media briefing live on the County’s Facebook page and YouTube page. Provided there are no conflicts, you can also watch the briefing on County Cable Montgomery.
