Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision that occurred on Monday, June 22, 2026, in North Bethesda. The collision resulted in the death of 76-year-old Marjorie Rothschild of Potomac.
At approximately 5:31 p.m., 2nd District officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the entrance to a parking garage located in the 11300 block of Woodglen Drive for the report of a single-vehicle collision involving serious injuries.
The investigation has revealed that a blue 2016 Toyota RAV4 entered the parking garage off of Marketplace Lane when the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a cable barricade. Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading up to the collision.
An adult male passenger in the vehicle was transported to an area hospital with significant, but non-life-threatening injuries.
